It Was Safer in the Street Than on the Sidewalk
Richard Leach, the pastry chef at Park Avenue Winter, wanted to shoot his dish for the upcoming book “Street Eats” outside. Right in front of the restaurant on the side walk was a manhole cover. I liked the one in the street better but Richard thought it would be too dangerous! So I lay down on the side walk and not 10 seconds later a woman in an electric powered wheel chair came around the corner passing awfully close to me. Seeing as it wasn’t any safer on the side walk and the manhole cover in the street was a whole lot nicer…… the photo tells the rest of this story.
